Student Info/Sign Out Binder

Using last school year as a learning experience, I decided to create a Student Information and Sign Out binder. This binder will hold information about each student: parents names, phone number, address, emergency contact information, pick up information, allergies, etc. I will also create sign out sheets (to be posted later as a free attachment for you to use/adjust to your needs) where each child will need to signed out at dismissal.

This wall of the information will be in one place and I can carry it with me during fire drills or other school emergencies.

Binder from Walmart, stick on letters from Dollar Tree. I don't recommend these letters, though. They don't seem to be that sticky and I feel like they will come off easily :/

School Supplies

It's great to work in a place where you get along with your coworkers. It's even better when you can get together for breakfast, lunch, dinner, family events, shopping, social gatherings, etc with your coworkers! Ms D. is the other pre-k teacher in my building. Ms. D & I met in graduate school where we had a few classes together. A year later we found ourselves meeting again after both of us were hired for our first year of teaching by the same agency. Low and behold, we were placed in the same elementary school as the only two pre-k teachers in the building! It was nice having someone I knew, someone the same age, and someone who had the same 'first year teacher' nerves as I did!

Fast forward a year and we are now preparing for our 2nd year of teaching! Although I am enjoying my summer, I am anxious for September! I can't wait to see my kids from last year as they enter kindergarten, and I can't wait to meet my next class! Ms. D and I have talked just about every day since school has ended, emailed different ideas we've seen on Pinterest, teaching magazines, other blogs, as well as have met for lunches, etc. On July 18th, Ms. D and I decided to meet for lunch and tackle some stores where school supplies are on sale! After a great lunch at Panera, we headed to Party City, Walmart, Dollar Tree, and Office Max! I made out GREAT in Walmart! For $16.61 I got:
*18 one subject spiral notebooks
*15 folders
*5 glue sticks
*2 binders
*1 file sorter
*1 package of name tags

How could you go wrong with that?!

I'm thinking about doing some sort of a polka dot theme in my classroom. At the Dollar Tree I found some cute polka dot card stock:

The next day we met up again! We hit up a different Walmart and our local teacher supply store! In this Walmart I found cute small paper pails (they were either $0.88 or $1.00) to match my polka dot theme. I'm thinking of attaching strong magnets to the back to keep my calendar pieces and/or dry-erase markers, or maybe my Helper of the Day cards in right on my board! Ideas are endless! I may have to go back and get a couple more!!

Now I need to start organizing myself and everything that I brought home from my classroom! I have 3 paper boxes full of center pieces and original copies of handouts/center games/coloring sheets/arts & craft pieces, and much, much more!
